Our name was strategically chosen to provide an insight into what we are all about. It works on many levels and we hope it means something different to everyone that trains with us.

To some, it will mean getting active and making a positive change. To many, it means pushing your body to its limits. For others, it's the feeling of camaraderie you can only get training in a group, this is a place where the last to finish gets the loudest cheer. It's "you" vs "you". It's not about being better than someone else, it's about being better than you were yesterday. Taking the next step forward or you will always be in the same place. It might be about celebrating that good pain you can only feel after a great workout.

The fact that you are reading this means that you are already interested in finding out what RAW MOVEMENT means to you. Here is what it means to us:

RAW - Organic, devoid of elaboration, being in a natural condition, not processed.
This means we strip it back, no machines, now lock in contract, no elaborate sales pitches and our mirrors are for coaching form, not gym selfies. We use equipment designed for functional training - barbells, kettlebells, ropes, rings, plyometric boxes, tyres, sleds and skipping ropes, the lost goes on. We use compound exercises to train the whole body, not isolation exercises like toe curls and eye brow raises.

MOVEMENT - the act or instance of moving.
This is what we do, we move, functionally. We will run, jump, pull, push, pop, squat, lift, carry, handstand and of course burpee.

This is RAW MOVEMENT in a short term sense. RAW MOVEMENT in a long term sense focuses on two other definitions.

RAW - powerfully impressive, stark.
This is the type of raw we reserve for the big stuff, the things that take your breath away (and not just after a session)

MOVEMENT - a series of actions and events taking place over a period of time and working to foster principal or policy.

That, of course, leads us to our principal philosophy. That is to create a program that promotes functional training. When something functions, it works. The manner in which something functions, is how it works. Our philosophy is to help create functional athletes from all demographics, by training the body the way it is designed to move
